Welcome to Kildare College, a vibrant and innovative learning community committed to nurturing every student to achieve their full potential.
Established in 1966 by the Brigidine Sisters, Kildare College has a rich history of providing excellent education to girls in Years 7-12. While we embrace contemporary ideas, we also remain true to the core values of St. Brigid and Nano Nagle as a Kildare Ministries College.
At Kildare, we foster a hospitable, diverse, and dynamic community that empowers young women to become independent, thoughtful, and resilient. Our broad and innovative curriculum is tailored to challenge and inspire our students, catering to their unique individuality, supporting their talents, and promoting academic excellence.
We believe that true success goes beyond the classroom, and we strive to equip our students with the skills they need to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. Through our dynamic and comprehensive programs, our students develop a strong sense of wellbeing, identity, success and belonging, which they carry with them beyond their time at Kildare.
Our website provides valuable insights into our academic achievements, culture of service and community offerings.

At Kildare, we are dedicated to fostering innovation, creativity and empowering young women as they chart their course in a world filled with boundless possibilities through transformative learning.
Our ever developing facilities compliment our extensive curriculum and are testament to our commitment to progressive education. In 2022, the Tullow Centre, an innovation hub, was officially opened, empowering young women to break through gender stereotypes and reach their full potential.
The Tullow Centre comprises of:
- Construction areas for woodwork and metalsmithing (jewellery)
- Digital Technology, STEM and Science Laboratories
- Media Suite with green screen and podcasting rooms.
- An impressive Auditorium arena, three versatile general learning areas, breakout spaces, and flexible learning zones catering to diverse learning needs.
The Tullow Centre shines as a beacon of excellence in girls' education and was recognised as a finalist in the 2023 Australian Education Awards.
The next stage for Kildare College is the Lightbridge Centre, a Performing Arts and Wellbeing Centre and the third building to be constructed at the College within 8 years.
The Lightbridge Centre will be a dynamic space fostering innovation, and where creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills are nurtured.
The new build will encapsulate:
- A 500-seat high-tech Performing Arts theatre partnered with versatile performance and rehearsal spaces, enhancing the Dance, Drama and Music curriculums
- A contemporary Wellbeing Area, including counselling rooms and mindfulness areas
- Learning Enrichment facilities with offices for staff who provide tailored support to students
- A Café, promoting community connections and a gathering space for College events
- Gallery Spaces, serving as a space to showcase student artwork, celebrating creativity in all its forms
- Six additional classrooms, flexible for the curriculum and catering for growing enrolments.
Expected to be open in late 2026, aligning with the College’s 60th Anniversary, the Lightbridge Centre is the culmination of years of growth, dedication, and vision, guiding the community towards a future brimming with possibility.
Kildare College offers a unique education for young women that will enhance their confidence, self-esteem, resilience and success in all areas of their life.
Supported by national research by the International Coalition of Girls' Schools, we recognise that girls in an all-girls’ educational environment achieve better results, take intellectual risks, gain more confidence and have an outlook on life based on their abilities and not their gender.
We are experts on how girls learn and are proud that we give them the undivided attention they need to develop and grow.
Some of the advantages of an all girls’ learning environment include:
Equal Opportunity Becomes Every Opportunity
- In an all-girls' school, leadership roles and opportunities are designed specifically for girls, ensuring they are empowered to lead, participate, and excel.
A Focus on How Girls Learn Best
- Our teaching methods are rooted in understanding how girls think, grow, and mature, creating a learning environment that caters to their unique developmental needs.
A Culture of Participation
- Girls are more willing to participate in class discussions without the pressure of being overshadowed by boys, which helps build their confidence and independence.
Freedom to Express and Explore
- Girls in single-gender settings report feeling freer to express themselves and speak their minds. This helps foster a love of learning and a strong sense of self.
A Greater Sense of Connection
- Studies show that girls in all-girls' schools experience a stronger sense of connection and belonging, enabling them to form meaningful friendships and support networks.
Breaking Barriers in Every Field
- At Kildare College, we encourage our students to pursue their interests in any career field—whether in STEM, the arts, or leadership. In an all-girls' environment, no opportunity is out of reach.
At Kildare College, learning is firmly grounded within a student-centred model. This allows us to adapt to our ever-changing world and to meet the varying needs and developing maturity of adolescent learners.
The curriculum at Kildare offers a wide and balanced range of subjects catering for individual differences and diverse pathways and goals. Our passionate and innovative teachers will know your daughter personally and will help identify her abilities and learning styles to achieve success in all facets of her life.
Our small class sizes are essential to the success of individual learning, as they allow your daughter to receive the specific attention she needs for optimal learning and growth.
Personalised learning and extension opportunities for the gifted and talented are in place to ensure each student is catered for and reaches their full potential.
Our core subjects provide a strong foundation on which students’ knowledge, understanding, skills and capabilities are built. Our extensive selection of elective choices enriches and complements our students’ learning experiences.
We provide opportunities for growing independence while providing ongoing support to ensure every student’s educational needs are met.
