From the Principal

Welcome to Kildare College, a vibrant and innovative learning community committed to nurturing every student to achieve their full potential.

Established in 1966 by the Brigidine Sisters, Kildare College has a rich history of providing excellent education to girls in Years 7-12. While we embrace contemporary ideas, we also remain true to the core values of St. Brigid and Nano Nagle as a Kildare Ministries College.

At Kildare, we foster a hospitable, diverse, and dynamic community that empowers young women to become independent, thoughtful, and resilient. Our broad and innovative curriculum is tailored to challenge and inspire our students, catering to their unique individuality, supporting their talents, and promoting academic excellence.

We believe that true success goes beyond the classroom, and we strive to equip our students with the skills they need to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. Through our dynamic and comprehensive programs, our students develop a strong sense of wellbeing, identity, success and belonging, which they carry with them beyond their time at Kildare.

Our website provides valuable insights into our academic achievements, culture of service and community offerings.

Thank you for your interest in Kildare College, and we invite you to explore what sets Kildare apart from other schools and experience our student-centred approach to education.

We look forward to welcoming you to our community.

With a focus on empowering young women to break through gender stereotypes and reach their full potential, Kildare College has recently constructed an innovation hub, the Tullow Centre, a cutting-edge educational facility designed to prepare students for the challenges of the future.

The Tullow Centre is a testament to our commitment to progressive education, boasting state-of-the-art facilities equipped to nurture innovation and self-discovery.
It comprises of the following:
- Construction area for various materials
- Digital Technology Laboratory
- STEM room brimming with 3D printing and laser cutting options
- Science Laboratory
- Media Suite with green screen and podcasting rooms.
- An impressive Auditorium arena, three versatile general learning areas, breakout spaces, and flexible learning zones catering to diverse learning needs.

The Tullow Centre shines as a beacon of excellence in girls' education and was recently recognised as a finalist in the Australian Education Awards. This remarkable facility ignites creativity and innovation, setting new benchmarks in education.

Educating Girls

Kildare College offers a unique education for young women that will enhance their confidence, self-esteem, resilience and success in all areas of their life.

Supported by national research, we recognise that girls in an all girls’ educational environment achieve better results, take intellectual risks, gain more confidence and have an outlook on life based on their abilities and not
their gender.

We are experts on how girls learn and are proud that we give them the undivided attention they need to develop and grow. Some of the advantages of an all girls’ learning environment include:
• Stronger academic results.
• All leadership roles are filled by girls.
• Teachers’ strategies target individual learning styles and abilities.
• Girls thrive and excel in collaborative teams, leading to a greater sense of connectedness.
• The challenges of adolescence are worked through without distraction or embarrassment.
• Girls feel more confident to take intellectual risks.
• Girls are introduced to strong female role models and understand that all careers are open to them.
• Women’s efforts and achievements are celebrated.

Learning at Kildare

At Kildare College, learning is firmly grounded within a student-centred model. This allows us to adapt to our ever-changing world and to meet the varying needs and developing maturity of adolescent learners.

The curriculum at Kildare offers a wide and balanced range of subjects catering for individual differences and diverse pathways and goals. Our passionate and innovative teachers will know your daughter personally and will help identify her abilities and learning styles to achieve success in all facets of her life.

Our small class sizes are essential to the success of individual learning, as they allow your daughter to receive the specific attention she needs for optimal learning and growth.
Personalised learning and extension opportunities for the gifted and talented are in place to ensure each student is catered for and reaches their full potential.

Our core subjects provide a strong foundation on which students’ knowledge, understanding, skills and capabilities are built. Our extensive selection of elective choices enriches and complements our students’ learning experiences.
