Teaching & Learning
At Hume Anglican Grammar we strive for excellence in all that we do.
We set high standards, support one another, and constantly reflect in search of continuous improvement.
To achieve this, we follow our Vision for Teaching and Learning. This gives us five pillars; each a clear principle that guides our work.
Curriculum (P-6)
We offer a balanced approach to learning, a compassionate consideration of the emotional wellbeing of students and the opportunity for all young people to flourish within our innovative and caring environment.
Teaching our students to become responsible citizens in a global society has become an integral element of our academic curriculum.
Our broad-based curriculum includes English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Technology, Visual Arts, Performing Arts (Music, Dance, Drama), Health, Physical Education, LOTE (Italian), and RAVE (Religious and Values Education).
Curriculum (7-12)
At Hume Anglican Grammar we are committed to providing a 21st century education that, while focused on academic pursuit, is underpinned by nurturing the wellbeing of each student, assisting them to achieve to the best of their ability.
We recognise that we are living in a fast-paced, globally connected world and we aim to give our students the skills they need to work effectively in their senior years.
Our Secondary curriculum incorporates a comprehensive range of subjects designed to help students identify and successfully pursue their career goals. It is continually reviewed to allow for new initiatives in response to our student interests and growing cohort.
Co-Curricular
Extra activities are an integral component of a student's overall holistic education.
We are strongly committed to offering a variety of co-curricular activities across the school, so that our students have a broad and rewarding educational experience.
Some of these experiences are formalised through participation in competitions or performance opportunities, whilst others are less structured and offered at school, during lunchtimes or after school.
Student Well-being
When students feel supported, safe, and engaged, they are more likely to perform well academically, have positive relationships with peers and teachers, and experience a sense of belonging in their school community.
At Hume Anglican Grammar we support students at each stage of development whether building foundational skills in the Primary school, enhancing middle years’ development, or supporting the senior years for post-school transition.
