St Joseph's College Echuca - Brigidine Campus

Welcome

In the true spirit of the Brigidine Sisters who founded our College in 1886, St Joseph’s College is a welcoming and hope-filled school that promotes excellence and equity, so that all students can aspire to become creative and critical thinkers who act with strength and kindliness in the Gospel tradition.

At St Joseph's College, we are dedicated to nurturing empowered learners who actively connect, interact, inquire, persevere, challenge and collaboratively learn from one another.

Our beautiful historic buildings house a Catholic learning community that is courageous in implementing learning programs that are designed to engage and excite 21st century thinkers.

Teaching and Learning

St Joseph's Catholic College is characterised by a nurturing and inclusive environment where dedicated educators inspire students to excel academically, grow spiritually, and develop a strong sense of common city.

Embodying a growth mindset culture, St Joseph's College supports every student in their journey to become the best possible version of themselves.

St Joseph's College is unwavering in its commitment to delivering personalised learning programs for all students, Our programs endeavour to tailor each student's educational experience to align with their specific learning requirements and to foster the cultivation of their individual passions and interests.

Curriculum

Our curriculum for students in Years 7-10 adheres to the Victorian Curriculum and Diocesan requirements, offering both academic and applied subjects to meet the needs and aspirations of each student.

As our students progress to their Senior Years, they have access to an extensive range of VCE subjects, including the VCE Vocational Major (VM) and the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC), with expanded opportunities in Vocational Educational Training (VET).

Our College supports every student in their journey to become the best possible version of themselves by ensuring that each student has access to a pertinent, motivating, and engaging educational pathway.

We are unwavering in our commitment to deliver personalised learning programs for all students that align with their specific learning requirements and to foster the cultivation of their individual passions and interests.

The College’s annual Academic Awards Night and Co-Curricular Awards Night acknowledges the diverse talents of our young people, recognising academic excellence, personal progress and outstanding commitment both in the classroom, and across sport, the arts, leadership and service.

Koorie Education

St Joseph’s College is built on the traditional lands of the Yorta Yorta people, and has strong ties with the local community. Approximately 5% of our student numbers identify as Koorie.

Our Koorie Educator, Auntie Donna Walsh, with the support of Mr Adam Prime, works closely with staff, students, parents and the wider community to ensure that our students get the best educational outcome when they graduate from St Joseph’s College.

The Arts & Technology

At St Joseph’s College we take great pride in providing our students with the opportunity to present their art, performance, music and technology works.

In 2025 we staged Disney's ‘Aladdin Junior’ - a spectacular musical journey of courage, friendship, first love and genie magic showcasing performances, choreography, and production.

‘St Joe’s on Show’ is our annual opportunity for the Art and Technology students to perform and display their various works. The show features drama and music performances, a media show reel, fashion parade, fabric exhibition, metal, wood and sculpture displays, with the VCE Art Exhibition opening night being a key highlight of the event, as is our Indigenous Art display.

Sport

St Joseph’s is a member of School Sports Victoria (SSV) which offers our students a wide range of sporting activities with the potential to progress through from the Campaspe region (at local level) to state level, which involves representation in Melbourne.

Teams at the College are selected internally for the following team sports: Netball, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Equestrian, AFL (Girls and Boys), Cricket, Clay Target Shooting.
