Frensham

A Rich History with a Modern Approach

Established in 1913 by Winifred Mary West, Frensham was founded on the principle of providing a holistic education that nurtures both academic excellence and personal development. The school's motto, "In Love Serve One Another," reflects its commitment to fostering a community where students are encouraged to develop empathy, integrity, and a sense of service. Frensham's educational approach emphasises critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning, preparing students to be thoughtful and engaged citizens.

A True Boarding School

Frensham offers a vibrant boarding program integral to its community, with approximately 70% of its 350 students living on campus. The boarding experience at Frensham is designed to promote independence, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills.

Boarders benefit from a structured environment that supports academic achievement and personal growth, with access to a range of co-curricular activities and pastoral care. The School's facilities provide a comfortable and nurturing "home away from home," enabling students to thrive both academically and personally.

As part of Frensham's culture of boarding, all students can participate in our Extended Day Program. This program ensures that learning, personal growth, and connection, continue beyond the classroom.

Academic Excellence

At Frensham, every student has the opportunity to excel. Academic growth is central to our approach, with a rigorous curriculum that balances depth and breadth. Core subjects are complemented by an extensive elective program, allowing students to specialise in a particular field or take a generalist approach with students often excelling across a range of academic interests. Frensham Graduates thrive in diverse fields including medicine, law, the arts, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.

Higher School Certificate
Frensham offers the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) with a wide range of subjects, leading to university entry and an ATAR based on assessments and exams.

Cambridge IGCSE
Frensham offers the globally recognised Cambridge IGCSE in Years 9 and 10m, equipping students with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This internationally benchmarked qualification opens doors to global opportunities, reinforcing our commitment to academic excellence beyond regional boundaries.
