Maranatha Christian School - Early Learning to Year 12

Excellence in Christian Education

Founded in 1970, Maranatha Christian School is the longest serving parent controlled Christian school in Victoria, built on the foundations of Christian discipleship, personal integrity, academic excellence and community service. At Maranatha, we seek to honour God in all we do. This underpins the way we teach, the way we care for students and the high expectations we have both for our students and ourselves. Most importantly, it underpins our partnership with parents to ensure that your children are fully prepared for the next stage of life.

Maranatha celebrates over 50 years of Christian educational leadership, with its rigorous academic pathway that challenges students to think creatively and apply what they have learned. The school is committed to inspiring and equipping our students to achieve personal bests in all they do and so become leaders in their field.

Maranatha Christian School delivers high quality education across our two campuses in Endeavour Hills (ELC to Year 12) and Officer (ELC to Year 6).

Student Welfare

At Maranatha Christian School staff closely monitor student progress, achievement, welfare and Christian growth. Discipline is firm, fair and in harmony with a Christian ethos.

Teachers and parents support one another through open communication.

We have found Maranatha Christian School students go on to make valuable contributions and provide leadership in all areas of life.

Broad Curriculum

To be a student at Maranatha means to access opportunity - the opportunity to learn, the opportunity to develop, the opportunity to serve, the opportunity to grow and the opportunity to excel. These opportunities are accessed by participation in a rigorous, challenging and engaging curriculum, as well as a wide range of co-curricular programs. These opportunities help children develop their personal faith and so build the necessary skills to be successful in life, no matter what pathway God may lead them.

A non selective entry school, from Early Learning to Year 12. The breadth of curriculum also includes VCAL and VET streams.

Extension classes are available for students who show a special aptitude for the material presented. In mathematics, an advanced class is offered to students who have achieved consistently high grades. This class will explore topics covered in greater depth than the other classes.

Sports and Co-Curricular Programs

Sport occurs at local, interschool, state and national levels.

Cultural activities include performances and exhibitions.

Co-curricular programs include international mission trips, camping, music, music, leadership development, student exchange, academic competitions and enhancement programs.

Technology

Technology is a vital part of our modern world - as a result, we are in the midst of some exciting changes to the educational landscape. With the increased use of technology, more class time can be used for discovery, collaboration and creation.

To facilitate the use of technology in the classroom, it is compulsory for all students in Year 9 and Year 10 to bring their own digital device to school. Minimum specifications are provided to ensure students have a device that will operate effectively within the school environment.

Global and Local Service Opportunities

Our Senior School students can participate in a Ugandan Encounter experience with HopeBuilders International. This program is designed for those with a passion for global humanitarian opportunities and a desire to experience other cultures. Students learn about the challenges of global poverty and visit initiatives that partner with vulnerable people, empowering them to rise above poverty.
Maranatha also offers regular local service opportunities. Through several community organisations, students learn about needs in our municipality and actively support local initiatives that address pressing community needs. These varied experiences allow students to explore expressions of kindness, gratitude, and compassion in both global and local contexts, fostering a well-rounded commitment to service.
