The Mercy Catholic College Mission is to work within the Catholic tradition and Mercy charism to educate, empower and inspire independent young women to achieve academic, social and spiritual growth.
The College offers a broad based curriculum that provides students with a range of options and courses in core subjects and a number of vocational based alternatives and life skills courses. Our team of highly qualified and professional teachers provide students with exciting learning experiences that cater for all learners.
The academic curriculum incorporates NESA Courses, together with TAFE related studies and tutoring in a wide selection of languages offered both at the College and through the NSW School of Languages.
At the senior level, students are guided in course selections to assist in their preparation for tertiary study and they may undertake early vocational training by completing Certificate 2 or 3 in a number of TAFE Courses.
STEM is an approach to thinking and learning which integrates the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, highlighting the connectedness of these subjects and emphasising the capabilities and dispositions students will need to succeed in these areas.
Through STEM, students are able to develop key skills such as problem solving, creativity, critical analysis, communication and resilience.
STEM is important to help our students to succeed in the modern world. The skills developed through STEM are vital for success in College and beyond.
The Creative Arts Faculty offers a wide range of co-curricular and enrichment opportunities at Mercy Catholic College that add to the life and spirit of the College and are a tangible way of connecting to the community and involving parent participation through various performance and exhibition opportunities.
DANCE:
Mercy Catholic College offers students of all abilities the opportunity to participate in dance.
The Recreational Dance Ensemble: caters to students who enjoy music and movement, keeping fit and healthy with friends and developing performance experience by showcasing their talents.
The Dance Performance Ensemble: offers students the opportunity to gain experience at competitions, festivals and various College based events throughout the year.
DRAMA:
Drama Club is a fun, supportive environment where experiences in dramatic arts help students develop confidence and self-esteem and to develop skills in voice, movement, improvisation, play building and script work.
MUSIC:
Any interested students are encouraged to become involved in the wide range of optional musical activities at Mercy College that include, The College Concert Band, The Stage Band, The Chamber Choir, The Pop Choir, The String Ensemble, The Guitar Ensemble, Rock Band, and the Flute Choir.
The College encourages the development of the whole person not just the academic, so we offer numerous opportunities for students to participate in co-curricular sports and activities.
Currently the College offers Netball, Soccer/Football, Rugby, Basketball, and Swimming.
