Orange Anglican Grammar School

Welcome

From Prep to Year 12, OAGS families are part of a community that is growing, not just in size but in opportunities and reputation. A community where every child is recognised, and their unique gifts and talents are nurtured, as they write their own story of discovery. As a Christian School we champion learning that ignites self-discovery with both academic depth and real-world skills.

Securing success isn't just about overcoming external challenges; it's about helping our students conquer their internal battles. It's the shy student finding their voice, the uncertain one leading with passion, and the dreamer realising their potential. Our graduates emerge with a grounded, determined confidence, ready not just to face the world, but to transform it with compassion.

On this quest, Christ is our compass. He compels us to inspire our students to not just aim for personal success but to uplift others. The OAGS secret? It's our community. A network of parents and teachers working together to infuse a sense of love and belonging that ensures every OAGS student is more than a statistic. They are a story of aspiration, resilience, and personal success. They are part of a community where success isn’t just measured, it’s celebrated.

Prep and Kindergarten to Year 6

Prep at OAGS is a pre-Kindergarten school readiness program. In Prep, children are immersed in a world of play-based learning, investigation and inquiry led by an experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated team of professionals. The focus of our Prep programme is on building social skills, developing children’s confidence and promoting the acquisition of fundamental knowledge and skills across a range of areas including literacy, numeracy and physical movement.

In the Primary years our programmes focus on mastery of the skills essential for success in life long learning, whilst encouraging creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and acceptance of responsibility for one's own learning. With a highly professional, collaborative and innovative teaching team, student’s at OAGS have the opportunity to immerse themselves in learning experiences that are engaging, relevant and designed to meet the individual needs of students using state-of-the-art technology and evidence-based teaching practices.

Secondary Years

The transition to Secondary School is a significant moment in the life of every student. These last 6 years are the setting when our students transition from childhood into capable and confident young adults. For this reason, we are committed to investing in the development of the whole person.

Within their academic course of study, students are taught by a collaborative and highly capable teaching and learning team. Delivering the core subjects alongside a broad range of elective options in years 9 and 10 and the full range of courses you would expect of an independent school in years 11 and 12, our students have achieved great success.

Wellbeing & Pastoral Care

OAGS is committed to the holistic development of each of our students. We recognise that students are only able to thrive in the classroom if they are supported, nurtured, developed and appropriately challenged socially, emotionally and spiritually. Our Pastoral Care programme encompasses a range of initiatives to target key areas in order to foster healthy wellbeing and engagement.

Students are supported by a school-wide Pastoral Care Team who are responsible for monitoring and supporting student wellbeing and engagement. Supported by a School Psychologist, the Pastoral Care Team collaborates with students, staff, families and external specialists to ensure students are provided with the opportunities to thrive and see individual success.

Co-Curricular Academies

The OAGS Academies (Sport, CAPA & ACE) are the heartbeat of the co-curricular offerings of the school. Coordinated by teams of highly experienced coaches, tutors and teachers, our students are given a wide variety of opportunities to pursue their interests in music, dance & drama; individual, representative & team sports; agriculture & primary industries; and many others.

All of our students have God given gifts, and for some that may be beyond the classroom. We encourage our students to participate in co-curricular activities, which are designed to complement their academic program, thus allowing a balance between co-curricular and curricular learning.
