Crossways Lutheran College - ELC to Year12
At Crossways Lutheran College we provide a complete educational pathway from Early Learning to Year 12, offering local families a high-quality Christian education in a caring and supportive environment.
We are proud of the rich diversity of our region and the strong partnerships we share with families, local organisations, churches and Aboriginal communities. Together, these relationships help create a welcoming environment where students feel connected and supported. Diversity is not simply acknowledged at Crossways. It is valued and celebrated.
Our dedicated staff care deeply about every child and work hard to help students develop confidence, character and a lifelong love of learning. Our aim is simple. We want every young person to discover their strengths, pursue their goals and find direction and purpose for their life.
Students at Crossways Lutheran College benefit from a wide range of opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Innovative learning spaces, specialised music and creative arts programs, outdoor learning experiences, Bush Kindy, sport, leadership opportunities and wellbeing programs all contribute to a rich and engaging educational experience.
With small classes, our teachers build meaningful relationships with students, providing personalised support and opportunities for every child to flourish, and where families are welcomed as valued partners in their child’s learning journey.
Our College provides a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where students are known as individuals, supported to achieve their best and encouraged to grow in confidence, character and faith. It is a place where kindness, respect and care are part of everyday life.
Students learn and grow within a familiar, supportive environment while accessing a broad curriculum, vocational pathways, senior secondary opportunities and personalised future planning.
Student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We believe students learn best when they feel safe, valued and connected, and we are committed to creating an environment where every young person can flourish.
Our approach to wellbeing is grounded in Christian values, with a focus on teaching and modelling Christ’s love in our daily interactions. Through respectful relationships, compassion and care, students are encouraged to develop a strong sense of belonging and responsibility within the college community.
ELC (3-5 years old):
The Early Learning Centre at Crossways Lutheran College provides a nurturing, play-based environment for children in the years before formal schooling.
Our program supports each child’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual development, helping them feel safe, confident and ready for the next step in their learning journey.
PRIMARY (Foundation to Year 6):
Junior School combines high-quality teaching with personalised support to help students build strong foundations for future learning.
Through evidence-based programs in literacy and numeracy, students develop the essential skills, knowledge and confidence needed for success throughout their schooling.
With smaller class sizes and strong relationships between students and staff, every child is given the opportunity to learn, belong and thrive.
SECONDARY (Years 7-12):
One of the strengths of learning at Crossways is the personalised support available throughout the secondary years Years 7-12.
Small class sizes and strong teacher relationships allow students to receive individual guidance and encouragement, particularly during the important senior years. Additional learning support is also available where required.
We want every student to leave Crossways with the knowledge, skills, confidence and character needed to pursue their chosen pathway and contribute positively to their community.
Whether that pathway leads to university, vocational training, employment or further study, we are committed to helping students discover direction, embrace opportunity and step confidently into the future.
Our College provides flexible pathways and VET opportunities that help students explore careers and prepare for life beyond school by supporting a range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways for students in the senior years.
These options allow young people to explore areas of interest, develop practical skills and gain industry-recognised qualifications while they work towards their SACE.
From Year 10 onwards, students engage in career education and pathway planning, working with staff and families to make informed decisions about future study, training and employment. For some students, this includes undertaking VET or TAFE courses alongside their school subjects.
CREATIVE ARTS:
We believe that music, visual arts and drama provide powerful ways for students to explore ideas, express themselves and develop confidence.
Our facilities include specialised music and creative arts spaces, as well as our Ceramic and Pottery Creative Shed and Multi-Purpose Centre, which support a range of artistic and performance opportunities.
Performances and exhibitions provide opportunities to share and celebrate student work with families and the wider community.
SPORT:
Sport plays an important role in the life of Crossways Lutheran College.
Through physical education lessons and a range of sporting activities, students develop skills, fitness, resilience and a healthy appreciation for teamwork and fair play.
Our spacious grounds and Multi-Purpose Centre provide opportunities for students to participate in a variety of sports and physical activities throughout the year. Participation helps students build confidence, learn to work with others and experience the joy of being active.
Students are encouraged to approach sport with respect and good sportsmanship, celebrating effort and improvement as much as results.
