About All Saints College Bathurst

Established in 1874, All Saints' College Bathurst is a school in the Anglican tradition with a proud history of providing a high-quality education in a stunning rural setting. Located a mere two and a half hourís drive from Sydney and recognised for consistently achieving outstanding HSC results, All Saintsí College aims to foster the best in every student.

As a non-selective, Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 co-educational school, All Saintsí College offers encouraging and dynamic programs to both boarding and day students of all abilities and backgrounds within a safe, picturesque, country setting. Maintaining a wide range of subjects and co-curricular activities, this beautiful College gives every child in its care the opportunity and resources to grow Ė spiritually, academically, culturally and socially.

Pastoral Care

Providing a values-based educational experience, the core philosophy of All Saintsí College is the recognition and fostering of the strengths of each of its students. With the services of a full time Chaplain and with a beautiful, historic Chapel, the College operates very successful pastoral care and peer support programs, specifically created for both day and boarding students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.

In the Junior school at All Saints' College, the class teacher is central to a childís pastoral care and cultivates not only a supportive relationship with each child, but also close links with each family.

The Senior School at All Saints' College employs a formal Pastoral Care Programme with the aim to ensure that every Senior School student is assigned through the House System to a staff member (Tutor) who oversees the wellbeing of this student from Year 7 to Year 12. From Tutor Group meetings to whole of House activities, with close links to the family, the aim is to nurture and mentor each student and promote a sense of belonging and security.

Junior and Senior School Curriculum

At All Saintsí College we believe that an excellent education must begin with the development of sound literacy and numeracy skills. Hence the study of English, (incorporating both reading and writing) and Mathematics form the core of our Junior School teaching programmes. These basics are then enhanced by four additional Key Learning Areas (KLAs) to encourage well-rounded individual development.

The Senior School curriculum builds on the Junior School experience and is designed to cater for a great diversity of interests and needs. As students progress through Years 7 to 12, a greater degree of subject choice and flexibility is introduced. This enables students to develop patterns of study that are highly appropriate to their career ambitions and future needs. Distance Education and extension courses at the local TAFE are also available.

At All Saintsí College, the uniqueness of every child is respected and individual assistance is equally available to those who may be experiencing difficulties with school work or who may require extension and enrichment opportunities.

Information technology is rapidly evolving and provides an inescapable context for our students. To better equip each of our students as they take up the challenges of a rapidly evolving technical world, All Saintsí College is constantly developing teaching and learning programmes which utilise the latest developments in Information Technology.

From the state of the art Information Hub of the Junior and Senior Libraries, to universal Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus, All Saintsí College teaching and learning programmes are being constantly revised to incorporate these powerful new tools which speak so strongly to our students. The use of personal touch tablets to complement the use of more traditional writing and research activities operates across Years 7 to 12 and a 'Bring Your Own Device' policy operates in Years 11 and 12.

At All Saintsí College we believe that what occurs outside the classroom is equal in importance to the instruction given within. All Saintsí students are encouraged to experience fully the vast cultural, musical and sporting opportunities offered by the College.

The study of instrumental music is internationally recognised as producing substantial benefits for young students in many cognitive, motor and social areas. The Instrumental Music Programme at All Saintsí College is based on this research, and is widely acknowledged as one of the most comprehensive in the State. Small group instrumental tuition is provided to students in strings, brass and woodwind instruments from Year 3 to Year 8. Students are then encouraged to continue with co-curricular instrumental tuition in an instrument of their choice.

A wide variety of sports is offered to all students and participation in Saturday team sport is strongly encouraged. Students are able to choose from cricket, football, rugby, swimming, tennis, hockey, athletics, cross country, basketball, touch football and netball.

The extensive co-curricular program at All Saints' College also includes debating, public speaking, outdoor education, choirs and vocal ensembles, stage and jazz bands, rock bands, string ensemble and orchestra. All students have the opportunity to be involved in dramatic productions, either on stage or behind the scenes. The College annual Literature Festival regularly features visiting authors.

All Saints' College offers boarding accommodation for up to 150 Year 7 to 12 students in on-campus houses. Watson House is the boarding residence for boys. Marsden House is the boarding residence for girls.

Each residential House is fully equipped with study facilities with Internet and Wi-Fi access, common rooms, a small kitchen and a pleasant outdoor areas.
