Canberra Girls Grammar School is the oldest independent day and boarding school in Canberra. Founded in 1926, Canberra Girls Grammar School is an Anglican School which offers a dynamic learning experience in an innovative environment, consisting of an Early Learning Centre (co-educational 3 to 5 year olds), a Junior School (co-educational Prep to Year 2 and girls only Year 3 to Year 6) and a Senior School and Boarding House (girls Year 7 to Year 12).

Canberra Girls Grammar School is set on two beautiful campuses, just one kilometre from Parliament House, covering ten hectares and includes facilities such as an indoor heated pool, indoor gymnasiums, sports courts, playing field, chapel, an Aquatic Centre on Lake Burley Griffin and purpose-built buildings for the performing arts, ICT, art, textiles, music and a 1000 seat hall.
Canberra Girls Grammar School offers a pastoral care program which focuses on growth and development of the individual, whilst maintaining our Anglican traditions. Canberra Girls Grammar School is proud of its heritage and uniqueness. Canberra Girls Grammar School is the only girls boarding school located in the Australian Capital Territory, conveniently within easy access to the central business district, road, rail and air transportation, whilst at the same time, providing the advantages of a leafy, almost rural atmosphere. Canberra Girls Grammar School boarders are a diverse group with a large percentage coming from rural townships in New South Wales. They are joined by students whose parents are on overseas postings and international students.
Canberra Girls Grammar School is committed to ensuring that boarding is a happy and fulfilling experience, providing students with a ‘home away from home’ environment. The Boarding House offers accommodation for three to four students per room from Years 7 to 10, two students per room in Year 11 and then single rooms in Year 12. The catering staff provide delicious and well-balanced meals and the students contribute to the planning of menus.
The students have a voice in the Boarding House through the Boarders Council and are encouraged to raise issues or make recommendations for improvements.
The Boarding House offers a unique health program for Canberra Girls Grammar School boarders. BoHo Alive is a fantastic program which facilitates the development of physical health, emotional well being and self awareness. In partnership with a local fitness provider, instructors come to the Boarding House once a week providing a variety of activities which have included cardio, strength, pilates, yoga and meditation.
