Students study specialized Performing Arts subjects across four streams: Music, Drama, Dance and Visual Arts.
They also complete the NSW standard curriculum requirements and achieve their HSC. Academic subjects offered include: English, Mathematics, Geography, History, Science, PDHPE, Technology and Applied Sciences, Music, Drama, Dance, Visual Arts, Business Studies, English Extension 1 and 2 and Design and Technology.
Current Performing Arts electives include: Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Self-Devised Dance, Jazz, Hop Hop, Musical Theatre, Pilates, Latin Dance, Digital Music Composition/Recording/Music Theory and Arranging, Song Writing, Senior Music Company, Instrumental/Vocal Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Solo/Duo Vocals, Junior Drama Company, Screen Acting and Auditioning, Theatre Sports, Scripts and Scenes, Improvisation and Comedy, Senior Drama Company, Body of Artwork, Drawing/Sculpture, Graphic Design, Digital Artwork. |

APGS benefits from a number of strategic partnerships with like-minded institutions that are able to offer students a rich and meaningful learning experience to foster further development in their creative skills and techniques.
APGS and Danceworks Sydney have partnered together to provide students with the option of completing elite ballet training whilst completing their academic studies.
APGS frequently collaborates with the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AMPA); running some senior music classes through their facilities and sharing performing arts faculty with the tertiary college.

APGS is not quite like any other school you may have visited. The best way to understand how truly special our school is, is to see us in action. We are now hosting Open Mornings along with our Private Tours of the school. At our Open Mornings you can expect to meet our Heads of School, academic staff and/or APGS students, view our facilities, see some of our students’ creativity in action, and have all your questions answered.

The Scholarship program has been designed to recognise, encourage, and support talented individuals pursuing an education in the performing arts.
APGS offers a number of scholarships that provide all or part remission of tuition fees. Scholarships do not cover textbooks, uniforms, excursions, performance fees, technology fees or private tuition fees.

To start the enrolment process please visit our website and complete the Online Application Form.
Entry to APGS is based on an Audition and Interview along with your accompanying documents. Applicants are required to perform 2 contrasting pieces or excerpts of up to 3 minutes each covering one or two of their chosen streams (Dance, Drama, Music, Music Theatre). Visual Arts students are to submit a portfolio of 8-10 pieces of their own work. Further details about this can be found on our website.
