Mentone Girls' Grammar School empowers young women through the life-changing gift of a high-quality, contemporary education. Our students regularly win prizes for sporting and artistic endeavour, and attain a high level of academic achievement as measured by key markers including NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy), VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) and ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Ranking) scores. These results are a reflection of the hard work put in by students and their teachers over many years in all critical areas of learning. We are particularly delighted when students achieve or surpass their personal expectations which are not always reflected in a test or ATAR score. Our results are particularly pleasing considering we are a non-selective entry school and welcome students of all talents and abilities.
Through our personalised approach to learning, combined with our expertise in the education of girls, we help students build their self-confidence, achieve excellence and make a difference – these are the results that matter most.

Sport and Physical Education have always been major ingredients in the making of strong, confident Mentone Girls. We have a new outstanding Wellbeing Precinct with 8-lane 25m pool, learn-to-swim pool and wellbeing studios and fitness gym while outside we are developing 12 new tennis courts, hockey and soccer pitch and 3 netball / basketball courts.
Mentone Girls' Grammar School encourages its students to adopt a healthy lifestyle by eating nutritious food and participating in regular exercise. Making both a daily habit can go a long way to building physical strength and keeping mentally fit. This often provides greater levels of success within and beyond school.
These positive attitudes to physical well-being and fitness are established through the PE curriculum, the comprehensive sporting program, and the carefully sequenced Outdoor Education program. From Aerobics to Waterpolo, there is something for everyone with instruction from qualified PE teachers and sports coaches in a number of sports, outdoor and recreational activities.
With our unique location on the foreshore, it is not surprising that many of our physical education activities also utilise our ‘Classroom on the Beach’ from ELC through to Year 12. |
