Castlemaine Steiner School and Kindergarten provides a contemporary education for children from Kindergarten through to Class 8, helping them to meet the demands of life in the twenty-first century.

The aim of Steiner schooling is to educate the whole child. The curriculum is broad and balances academic subjects with artistic and practical activities.

Steiner Education covers a wealth of world cultural histories from Celtic fairy tales, through studies of old testament stories, Norse myths, Greek and Roman mythologies to medieval tales and Shakespearean plays and poetry, in a way which meets the needs of each growing child. Castlemaine Steiner School and Kindergarten teachers move with their class community from Class 1 through to Class 8. Castlemaine Steiner School and Kindergarten is located on 18 acres and has architect designed rammed earth classrooms. The playgrounds and gardens are designed for children's safety and enjoyment. A magnificent Multi-Purpose facility houses the music programme and enables the wonderful class plays to be produced in style.




Open Days are held in May and September each year. Booking for a School Tour on the Open Days is essential.

Spring Fair is a "must see" community event held on the first Saturday after the Melbourne Cup in November.
