John Paul College opened on an 11 hectare site on Australia Day, 1982 and was Queensland’s first ecumenical school. John Paul College was built by our community for our community, through the co-operation of clergy from the local Anglican, Uniting and Roman Catholic parishes.
A commitment to Christianity and the fundamental values of love, freedom, responsibility, truthfulness, fairness, unity, tolerance, mutual respect, contribution and loyalty remain at the core of our College and all that we believe in. The strong sense of unity continues today, with our College staff and students playing an active part in our local community.
Today, John Paul College is recognised as one of Australia’s most progressive and dynamic Early Learning to Year 12 co-educational, independent schools and enjoys a national and international reputation for offering a comprehensive curriculum supported by a leading-edge technology program and excellent and extensive cultural and sporting programs.
Located just 20 minutes south of Brisbane CBD, we encourage you to visit our amazing campus and experience John Paul College.
John Paul College respects Australia’s traditional custodians of the land – the Yugambeh and Jagera people – and we value the environment we share. |

In defining our educational framework, we recognise that your children are the centre of all learning and we aim to provide them with a continuous learning journey where they will be engaged in a varied curriculum with relevant learning experiences and a wide range of learning tools.
Our curriculum process is dynamic, practical and ever-changing and constantly strives to ensure that the learning undertaken by our students is meaningful, developmental and purposeful. With literacy and numeracy as our core focus, our curriculum does more than teach our students how to read and write. It encourages them to analyse, draw inferences and assess written information whilst incorporating computer literacy across the curriculum. |

Our Academic Welfare Program focuses on developing the whole learner. It incorporates learning opportunities to support our students’ social and emotional wellbeing and opportunities to develop leadership skillsets, while also developing study strategies to assist students’ academic development. |

Students come to JPC from across Australia and the world to join our boarding program which provides boutique, village-style accommodation nestled in native bushland adjacent to the main campus. The College offers one of the lowest staff-to-student ratios of any Australian boarding school, reflecting the value we place on the safety and wellbeing of students entrusted to our care.
Boarders have access to recreational facilities including ovals, a games room, a dining hall, a basketball court, a fire pit and full use of the facilities at JPC including our aquatics centre, double-court indoor stadium and gymnasium. |
