Mary MacKillop College is at the forefront of contemporary curriculum delivery because teachers pursue professional development in all fields of academic and co-curricular activity offered on campus.
An emphasis is placed on the teaching and learning of young women at Mary MacKillop College and teachers are expected to critically reflect on all aspects of their practice.
Learning is the key facet of community engagement and is social and collective as well as individual and personal. This is a community composed of learners and to facilitate our focus, a broad range of core and extension subjects are offered to cater for the needs of all students.
‘Feminine justice’ (Gilligan & Richards, 2009) is at the heart of communal engagement and this ensures that Mary MacKillop College students become aware of themselves as citizens of an interconnected global world, with particular emphasis on the ethical needs of women in this diverse, plural world context.
