Welcome to Hope Christian School

Hope Christian College is Reception to Year 12, independent, co-educational Christian school and is a ministry of Craigmore Christian Church.

The College has experienced significant growth for a number of years and the Current enrolment is around 860 students. The student body is richly culturally diverse.

The College seeks to authentically live out its vision of ‘Developing the whole child, in a caring, nurturing environment in the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ’.

Junior School - a nurturing environment

At Hope Christian College we understand the importance of a child’s first years at school. The academic program is delivered within the framework of the Australian curriculum, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, by caring Christian teaching and support staff in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our students are immersed in a purposeful, interesting and engaging learning environment where we encourage each child to develop their gifts and talents.

Middle Years 6 - 9

At Hope Christian College, Middle Schooling has a high emphasis on community and pastoral care.
The curriculum is delivered through a range of structures from differentiated programs including Music, Drama, Digital Technologies, Technical Studies and Science. Middle School also marks the commencement of the camps and outdoor education programs, where students utilise practical skills in the great outdoors. Our Laptop Program also commences in Middle School, and seeks to provide equitable access to technology for students in their middle and final years of schooling.

Senior Years 10-12

At Hope Christian College, Years 10-12 are the senior years. This culminates in their completion of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). In these three years, students see the end of their compulsory schooling prior to embarking on courses of tertiary study or careers in the work force.
Student choices at Senior School level should relate to future study and career interests. A range of subjects, assessed in different ways, allows Hope Christian College to offer a realistic and relevant choice of subject combinations for Years 10-12 students. From these, students can select a course to satisfy their own requirements, and to meet those of the South Australian Certificate of Education.

The Arts

Hope Christian College offers specialist Music Teachers for Reception to Year 12. We also provide an instrumental music programme offering opportunities for students to learn piano, guitar, woodwind and brass instruments (such as saxophone and trumpet), violin, cello, and singing.

Middle School Choir is for students in years 6-9. Students are enabled to harness existing skills, challenge themselves by being involved in a two or three part vocal ensemble and explore the creativity they possess.

Students undertaking music studies participate in either the Senior Vocal or Instrumental ensemble as part of their course.

Sport

Junior, Middle and Senior Sports Days are held each year.
Basketball is the key sport offered at Hope Christian College. We have boys, girls and mixed teams from U8s to U18s, and pathways are offered into District Basketball through the Central Districts Basketball Club.
And our College participates in inter school carnivals for athletics, basketball, soccer, football, netball, cross country and other sports.
