St. Joseph’s School Mount Isa is a two stream school providing an excellent academic education as well as specialist teaching in Music, Physical Education, Cultural Studies (Languages other than English) and literature. The school also has a comprehensive behaviour management program that embraces the '5C' policy - Care, Consideration, Cooperation, Courtesy and Common Sense. In recent years, St. Joseph’s School Mount Isa has introduced pastoral care, personal development education, sporting and enrichment programs across all year levels. |

All levels of student ability are catered for at St. Joseph’s School Mount Isa. The Learning Enrichment Team provide learning support and enrichment programs to cater for a range of student needs. St. Joseph’s School Mount Isa follows the THRASS program for Teaching Handwriting, Reading and Spelling Skills and combines this with the First Steps literacy program. The PAL program is also available for students requiring extra phonic support and practise. Specialist teachers work alongside classroom teachers and offer lessons in Music, Cultural Studies, Physical Education and hearing support. |

St. Joseph’s School Mount Isa boasts a BER Performing Arts and Sports Facility (the Penola Centre), a state of the art library facility and a modern, well equipped Prep unit. The school also has large, well maintained playing field as well as many shady areas for children and families to gather under. In 2013, St. Joseph’s School Mount Isa Kindergarten opened. |

St. Joseph’s School Mount Isa staff and families are very active in the community and the school regularly enters local competitions, eisteddfods and interschool sporting events. The School Board, P&F and Ladies Auxiliary work in close partnership with the school and parish to provide support for new families, social activities and fundraising. |
