Lakes Grammar - An Anglican School

Our Philosophy

At Lakes Grammar we understand and believe that education is about the whole person, so our vision emphasises both the heart and the mind. Our Vision advocates applying what is learned to living our lives wisely and well, to serving those in need and to honouring God in all our endeavours. The Vision Statement informs all that we do at Lakes Grammar.

“With compassionate hearts and inquiring minds we strive to learn well, live wisely, serve others and honour God”.

Our Young History

Our school grew out of a commitment by the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle to the provision of a quality Christian education to the communities of the Central Coast. Established in 2004 the school has grown rapidly from a little over 150 in its first year to just under 930 in 2015.

Future growth plans for the school will see us take our final shape within the next ten years with three classes for each year group from Kindy to Year 6 plus a Year 5/6 Opportunity Class and four classes in each year group from Year 7 to 12.

Student Wellbeing

The School acknowledges the responsibility to ensure that, while at school, all students are given opportunities to develop positive attitudes and appropriate values. All students need to develop acceptance and understanding of others and their needs. At Lakes Grammar all students have the right to feel safe and to be treated as unique persons made in the image of God. They in turn must acknowledge, through their actions, a duty to respect the rights of others.

At Lakes Grammar this is supported by the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework, which has its core messages relating to three key terms - Respect, Responsibility and Care. PBL is used to provide a structure by which students learn, understand and adhere to appropriate and acceptable behaviours. This involves the active development of social and emotional skills that allow all students to flourish.
